Sanju: Ranbir Kapoor transformation to Sanjay Dutt's Munna Bhai is stupendous
Today, the makers of Sanju dropped a BTS video, where Ranbir Kapoor is seen prepping for the Munna Bhai sequence. The actor and the director Rajkumar Hirani share some insights too.
People who have watched Sanju would have loved the Munna Bhai sequence. The part took the makers including the director Rajkumar Hirani back to 15 years ago when he was actually filming Munna Bhai MBBS starring Sanjay Dutt in the lead role.
Today, the makers dropped a video of Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the titular role in Sanju's transformation to Munna Bhai. In the four-minute video, Ranbir and Rajkumar are seen discussing how difficult it was to get the iconic role back on the big screen and leave an impact the way it did, 15 years ago.
By watching the video, it indeed looks like a straining task. But kudos to Ranbir for acing the look and the mannerisms like wearing a glove.
Towards the end of the video, Hirani revealed that he showed the sequence to Sanjay, who in return asked him if he is still there in the third instalment of Munna Bhai franchise.

Sanju has won hearts all over the world and is continuing to mint money at the box office. The film has crossed Rs 250-crore mark at the box office and is inching closer to enter the Rs 300 crore club.
Apart from Ranbir, the biopic also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sonam K Ahuja, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal, Jim Sarbh, Karishma Tanna and others in pivotal roles.
