Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy gets a thumbs up from Will Smith; WATCH

The hip hop phenomena has swept across the nation since past few weeks and Ranveer Singh is responsible for it. With his film Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh introduced Indians to the real hip hop music. The movie released on Valentine’s Day and left the entire nation hooked to Ranveer Singh’s Apna Time Ayega. Now, Gully Boy has received a thumbs up from the international hip-hop star and actor Will Smith himself. Will Smith took to Instagram today to share a video where he can be seen praising Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy. 

In the video, Will Smith seems extremely excited and congratulated Ranveer for his impeccable performance as a rapper in the film. He was all praises for the Gully Boy actor and said, “Yo Ranveer congrats man I am loving what you’re doing with Gully Boy. For me, old school hip hop here seeing hip hop all over the world like that I am loving it man congrats Go Get em!.”  Well, it seems that the rapper in Will Smith is totally smitten by Apna Time Ayega from Gully Boy. 

This isn’t the first time that Will has praised Ranveer. Last year, Will came to India to shoot for Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 and met Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh. Even then, he was all praises for the Gully Boy star. Now, Will took to Instagram to wish Ranveer for his film and expressed his joy of seeing hip hop across the globe.

Gully Boy is helmed by Zoya Akhtar and also stars Alia Bhatt in a pivotal role. The songs from the film like Apna Time Ayega, Mere Gully Mein and Asli Hip Hop are trending chartbusters since the time they came out. Gully Boy even premiered at the Berlin Film Festival where Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt received massive adulation from the international crowd. This praise by all has had a positive impact on the box office collection of Gully Boy as on the first day itself, Ranveer Singh’s movie shattered all records and went on to earn around Rs. 17-18 crores.
