Omerta trailer: Rajkummar Rao promises a terrific performance as terrorist Omar Saeed Shaikh

Rajkummar Rao has been giving brilliant performances with his films Shahid, Trapped, Newton and others. 2017 was his year as the actor won several awards for the strong acts he has been putting up in his films.

The actor is again back to thrill everyone with his new film Omertà. The trailer for the same came out today. 

Rajkummar essays the role of terrorist Omar Saeed Shaikh in the film. The film traces Omar's journey, how he changed his identity, his participation in terrorist activities and attacks.

The actor sports a beard and spectacled look for the film. His act will leave you excited for the film. The trailer looks promising and Rajkummar is surely going to give another terrific performance with Omertà.

The film is directed by Hansal Mehta.

Meanwhile, Mehta had shown Omar’s character in his 2013 film Shahid in a brief scene where he tries to brainwash lawyer Shahid Azmi, the film’s protagonist. Interestingly, Rajkummar had played the role of Shahid Azmi in that film.

This is Rajkummar's fourth with director Hansal Mehta after Aligarh, Citylight and Shahid. 

Despite having won accolades, filmmaker Hansal Mehta thinks that the movie might face some trouble with the censor board. In an earlier interview, he had said, "Let’s see. We will cross the bridge when we come to it. There will be a problem. But I hope they (censor board) understands the film’s context. We haven’t done anything to sensationalise."

Omertà is slated to release on April 20, 2018.
