Mukkabaaz new song: ‘Paintra’ is a perfect blend of EDM and hip-hop
The makers of Anurag Kashyap's next Mukkabaaz have released the first song from the movie.
Anurag Kashyap is back in action with his next film, Mukkabaaz. The makers today released the first song, titled Paintra, from the movie and it presents an exciting picture about Mukkabaaz.
Produced by native EDM sensation Nucleya and sung by rapper Divine, Paintra is a perfect blend of EDM and hip-hop.
The 3-minute video narrates the basic plotline of the film which is based on the life of a small town struggling boxer named Shravan Kumar who falls in love with the niece of a local politician Bhagwan Das Mishra, essayed by Jimmy Shergill. Due to caste difference, Mishra and his men threaten Shravan to maintain his distance from the family. Insulted and humiliated by them, Shravan takes it up as his life’s mission to extensively train under his coach Sanjay Kumar, played by the eminent Bhojpuri actor, Ravi Kishan, to prove his worth.
The movie stars Jimmy Shergill, Vineet Kumar Singh, who was previously seen in Kashyap's 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and 'Ugly' (2014), Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishen and newcomer Zoya Hussain.
Anand L Rai will co-produce the film along with Phantom Films and Eros International. The film will hit the screens on January 12, 2018.
Earlier during an interview, when Anurag was asked about the film, he had said, ''I didn’t want to make just another sports movie. The stories it (Mukkabaaz) is based on are from various states, not just UP. Places where boxing is prominent. Then there are parallels — between wrestling, shooting, basketball. They face similar problems. The system has never really created a sportsman. They have always come out of the personal passion of an individual. I wanted to address that and, in the process, everything around us that was bothering me — casteism and nepotism... It’s [The film] not about any political party but society at large.''
"I am dying to see how everybody reacts to it because we have tried to make the film under the radar. The one man I want to thank is Aanand Rai and Eros. They gave me total freedom to do what I wanted to do. They didn't tell me anything, except 'go ahead.' I hope I don't let my producers and exhibitors down," he had said.
