Manushi Chhillar made India proud when she won the coveted Miss World 2017 title. Chhillar competed against 108 contestants from various countries at a glittering event held at Sanya City Arena in China.
However, only some of us are aware of the fact that she was a medical student and a CBSE topper too. Her life took a dramatic turn when she won this esteemed competition. Manushi underwent rigorous training and worked hard to achieve her goals.
A video is going viral on the internet where she is looking completely different and unrecognizable. Her transformation is definitely praise-worthy. This video is a proof that Manushi is a true example of beauty with brains.
Today, Manushi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She was accompanied by her parents and brother. Before meeting Modi, the 20-year-old Haryana girl had tweeted: "Excited to meet the honourable prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. It's indeed motivational for me to be in the presence of a man I have looked up to."
Manushi is the sixth Indian to win the title and the first since Priyanka Chopra won the crown in 2000, thereby ending a 16-year drought for India at the international pageant.
Her winning shot at the competition came with her heartwarming response to a question posed by the judges. Manushi was asked which profession deserved the highest salary and why? She had replied: “I think a mother is of highest respect. I don’t think its just about cash but love and respect she gives to someone. She is the biggest inspiration in my life. Mother should get highest respect.''
Talking about her heartwarming answer, Manushi had said, "Since I am very close to my mother, I believe a mother deserves the highest respect. When you talk about salary, I don’t think it’s just about cash, but it’s the love and respect you give someone. I think my mom has always been my biggest inspiration; mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. It is certainly that one profession which deserves the highest salary, the highest respect and love."
On how she felt when they announced her as the winner, Manushi had revealed, "When I heard them say India, I was ecstatic. It took me a few seconds to absorb it. It’s a moment when you want to laugh and cry at the same time. This was my dream always... to hear India being announced the winner. That was the happiest moment of my life."
