Laila Majnu trailer: Imtiaz Ali brings a modern twist to this passionate and epic tale of love

We all have heard of different tales of love stories - Romeo and Juliet, Shirin Farhad, Heer Ranjha, Mirza Sahiban, Laila Majnu and others. Well, Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor together have presented us a modern Laila Majnu story that will again speak of the passionate, deep and eternal love between two people. In the film, actors Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri play the roles of Kais and Laila respectively. The film is directed by Sajid Ali. The story is set in Kashmir and as the makers described, Laila Majnu is a film about a journey of love which is filled with insurmountable obstacles.
The trailer starts with Kais and Laila's nok-jhonk and they eventually fall in love with each other. Kais and Laila hope for a happy ending to their love story, however, the differences and their families don't approve of it and the couple is separated. We then get to see the Majnu side of Kais who goes crazy and mad for Laila in her love and unable to forget her. Their characters have to go through a lot of hardships and troubles in their love story. So will they unite in the end? Well, we will get the answer only after watching the film.
The chemistry between Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri seems fresh and natural. The actors complement each other quite well and look good together onscreen.

Laila Majnu is all set to hit the screens on September 7, 2018.
Talking about Imtiaz Ali, his last directorial was Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017) starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.
Ekta Kapoor will be bringing back her popular TV show Kasautii Zindagii Kay with Erica Fernandes playing Prerna and reportedly Parth Samthaan essaying Anurag Basu's role.
