I have thought about them often, hummed a line or two and was delighted to discover them on youtube, eventually. These songs are probably not big hits and you might have not heard them before. But they are hauntingly beautiful and oh so melodious. I hope you guys enjoy these old, obscure gems.
1. "Bahut door hoke bahut pass ho tum.."
A 37 year old babe Zeenat stars in this movie set in Canada along with Raj Babbar and Sreeram Lagoo. The songs of this movie are just beautiful. Do check out other songs of this movie Namumkin(1988) on youtube.
2. "Aye zindagi hui kahan bhool.."
Again, from movie 'Namumkin', byt the great Kishore Kumar.
3. "Mere khayalon ki rahguzar se .."
A beautiful song from a beautiful movie "Yeh Ishq Nehi Asaan" starring Rishi Kapoor and Dipti Naval.
4. 'Jhoom ke ga yun aaj mere dil'
From movie 'Patanga' starring my love Shashi Kapoor.
I heard his song once when I was a wee kid, and it stuck with me for ever, partially for its jolly melody and partially for my love for everything Shashi Kapoor. I was so happy to find it online and equally happy to share it with you guys. Enjoy!
5. "Hothon se choo lo tum.."
From movie 'Prem Geet', a lovely song by the great Jagjeet. Okay, this song is quite well known, but its so damn good, had to share.
6. "Phir se aayio badra bideshi.."
From a heartfelt movie by Gulzar, starring Sharmila Tagore and Sanjeev Kumar. A beautiful song by Ashaji.
7. "Bade achhe lagte hain.."
You might have heard this one before. It was a hit song from movie Balika Badhu(1976). One of the cutest movies ever! A great song.
