After Tanushree Dutta spoke up again after a decade about the harassment she faced on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasss in 2008, many men and women have opened up and called out sexual predators. The Me Too movement gained momentum not just in the film industry, but also in corporations and the media industry. Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra and many other actors have come out in support of the victims. Many have filed police complaints against predators after years.

Kareena Kapoor Khan attended the launch event of her radio show. Kareena will be interviewing many personalities for her radio show which will go on air December onwards. At the event, she was asked if women require more than what the industry is giving in terms of security and safety. Kareena addressed the Me Too movement and lauded the women and men who have spoken out. She said, “The fact that so many women have come out and spoken is a start. Earlier people have not spoken for years and today people have come out and I really really appreciate the women who had the courage to stand up and talk and that is going to help all of us change our workplace and give us security. And whoever it is, big or small, there is no place (for them), it has to be safe. It doesn’t matter if you are the biggest superstar or the smallest, but women have to be secure and the most important thing is that we have to keep the momentum going. We have to keep the conversation alive and once we keep that alive, a lot will change.”

Speechless

When asked if the industry should take a proper stand on it, Kareena said, “Ofcourse, we are doing that, a lot has been assessed and a lot of stand has been taken. I am sure legal course is also being taken.”
