Janhvi Kapoor breaks down as she remembers mom Sridevi at the Dhadak trailer launch event
Today, at the trailer launch of Dhadak, when she was asked about her mother Sridevi Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor got emotional and was on the verge of breaking down.
Those who have seen the trailer of Dhadak would agree that Janhvi Kapoor has done a great job in picking up the core of the film. From her style of talking to her acting, everything just adds to the charm of the movie. Today, at the trailer launch, when she was asked about her mother Sridevi Kapoor, Janhvi got emotional and was on the verge of breaking down. She said she misses her at the trailer launch.

Celebrated actor Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018 after accidentally drowning in her hotel bath tub in Dubai. The actor was in the UAE to attend a family wedding, post which she had extended her stay.
In her first ever interview, Janhvi talked about coping with the monumental loss of her mother. She told Vogue, “The family has come together. It’s made us feel safe and secure. Even for papa (Boney Kapoor), it’s a source of comfort. It has definitely tied us together. We’ve lost mum, and I don’t think that’s a loss any of us will ever get over.”
"I am so proud of my parents. I need to make them as proud of me. That has always been my motivation. I want mine to be ‘the debut’. But it comes from an honest and sincere place. Mum always told me, it’s not about the kind of role or movie you do; you need to make an impression- that’s an actor’s job. She never encouraged jealousy or frustration. We’re capable of being happy for others," she added.
Janhvi also revealed that Sridevi had watched about 25 minutes of her debut film Dhadak. Janhvi was quoted as saying, "She was very technical about it. The first thing she told me was the things I needed to improve -- she felt the mascara was smudged and it really bothered her. The second half has to be different, she told me... ‘You can’t wear anything on your face.’ That’s all she told me, but she was happy."
