Inder Kumar passed away in July last year after succumbing to a heart attack. Recently, a video went viral on social media in which Inder is supposedly in an inebriated state and is seen talking about suicide. He mentions how his bad habits lead to his downfall and the mistakes he made in his personal life. He apologises to his parents in the video and is seen sobbing.
Inder’s wife Pallavi Saraf addressed the media today and clarified that the video is a scene from his film. She said, “It is not a real video. It is actually a scene from a film called 'Phatti Padi Hai Yaar' for which he had shot a year-and-half ago. It is sad that people are confusing the film scene with his real life."
Inder Kumar was accused of rape in 2014 and had spent 45 days in prison. Pallavi said, “During that phase, he was highly disturbed. There were, of course, days where he broke down. He was concerned that his name was dragged into this but he never gave up.”
The film is slated to release later this year. Pallavi and Inder’s relatives said at the press conference that they don’t know how this scene from the film got leaked. “We would never do that. His death certificate mentions heart attack so why would we try to release a video which says otherwise? This is purely by accident,” Pallavi said when asked if this could be a publicity stunt.
