EXCLUSIVE: Tumbbad Teaser: Actor-producer Sohum Shah speaks about the film's journey & Rajkumar Hirani's tweet

The teaser of the thriller film Tumbbad is finally out. The movie is touted to be of the thriller genre and even before the release of the film, the movie has been in the news for its concept. Ace director Rajkumar Hirani tweeted about the film stating, "Just saw an early screening of TUMBBAD. I have not seen a more visually stunning film in a long time. Great camera work, art, costumes. And @s0humshah you are outstanding in the film!@LittleTownFilms"

Now, the lead actor and the producer of Tumbbad, Sohum Shah spoke about the appreciation the film received from Hirani. He EXCLUSIVELY stated to Pinkvilla, "I did not expect this kind of response from the film very soon. I thought that I am making something good after hearing the response. The film was ready and we hosted a screening for Rajkumar Hirani and he really liked it. He even appreciated my performance in the film. It really feels good when a big director applauds your film."

The thriller film was announced in the year 2014. When asked about the delay, Sohum said, "We started the project in 2012. It has been more than six years and it's because the film is very different. We have done a lot of research in the film and production design is very heavy of this film. Moreover, the film has evolved also. The film had to take a long time, it couldn't have been completed otherwise. The expectations were a lot from this project and it's an ambitious film."

Tumbbad also stars Jyoti Malshe, Dhundhiraj Prabhakar Jogalekar, Anita Date, Deepak Damle, Ronjini Chakraborty and Mohd. Samad in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Rahi Anil Barve and produced by Aanand L Rai, Mukesh Shah and Amita Shah. It is slated to release on October 12, 2018.
