The ending of Avengers: Infinity War was sheer heartbreak for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans but the end-credits was a beacon of hope as well as a cry for help. And who do you to turn to when half of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes have turned into dust (literally)? Well, Captain Marvel, of course! That's right! After months of agonising patience and teasing fans mercilessly at San Diego's Comic-Con 2017 with the reveal of Brie Larson playing the superhero, the trailer of Captain Marvel is finally out.

The first thing you will not be able to get over is Brie looking fantastic in Captain Marvel's costume. As Carol Danvers, we dig deep into the past of the character with the help of a few friends we have come across before like Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). Joining the MCU franchise is Robert Downey Jr's Watson himself Jude Law, who will be seen as Danvers' mentor Walter Lawson aka Mar-Vell. It's the thundering eyes of Captain Marvel reminiscent of Thor in Avengers: Infinity War that will give you instant goosebumps.

Meanwhile, Twitterati could not keep calm over Captain Marvel's trailer and have already started showering praises over Brie:

Okay I legit teared up at the #CaptainMarvel trailer? I didn’t realise how much it would mean to me to FINALLY see a female lead in the MCU. Like I’ve been waiting for it for so long and watching the trailer it was like...oh. So THAT’S what it feels like.

Captain Marvel paves the way for MCU as it is the first female-superhero led movie. Given Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman (2017) success as showcased by DC Universe, Marvel has surely learned its lesson that women run the world, indeed!

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel is slated to release on March 8, 2019.
