Veteran actor Shammi Aunty’s prayer meet was organized in the city today. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan arrived for Shammi Aunty’s prayer meet together. After they offered their condolences to the family, Aishwarya Rai escorted Jaya Bachchan to her car. They shared a warm hug before Jaya Bachchan left in her car.

There have been many reports about a discord between Aishwarya and Jaya Bachchan. However, sources close to the Bachchans have rubbished these reports. In fact, Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai share an extremely warm bond. Recently, the family celebrated Holi together and Amitabh Bachchan had shared photos on his social media account.

Abhishek had earlier shed light on their equation. He had said, “Ma and Ash gang up against me and they keep rattling on in Bengali. Mom knows the language because she is Bengali and Aishwarya had worked with Rituda (the late Rituparno Ghosh) in Chokher Bali, so she also can speak the language quite well. So whenever they have to team up against me, they start talking in Bengali”

Karan Johar who is close friends with the Bachchan family had said on various occasions that ‘Aishwarya is the ideal Mrs. Abhishek Bachchan” and had called Jaya Bachchan the best mother-in-law from Bollywood.

On the work front, Aishwarya Rai is busy with the shoot of Fanne Khan. She will also reunite with husband Abhishek Bachchan in a cop drama, as per reports.
