Daddy: Arjun Rampal's song Zindagi Meri Dance Dance will give you retro vibes
Arjun Rampal took to Twitter to share the song, Zindagi Meri Dance Dance from Daddy.
Daddy is the story based on gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli, which is being played by Arjun Rampal. The actor took to Twitter to share the song Zindagi Meri Dance Dance and wrote, "Here it is. Stir up nostalgia with the #ZindagiMeriDanceDance from #Daddy
@DaddyRealStory @aishu_dil @TSeries."
Well, the song is sure to give you retro vibes - from the setting of the song and the lyrics to the costumes they are wearing. Sung by Alisha Chinai and Vijay Benedict, the song will take you back to 80s. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri and lyrics are penned by Anjaan.
Talking about how Arjun got on board for the film, he told us, "Every actor at some point in their life wants to play a gangster. When I got an opportunity to do such a film and research it and get into the writing aspect of it, I knew it has to be something good. When I started researching about Arun Gawli, I was amazed at the phenomenal journey he has had."
He added, "A great rise and rise and then lot of falls and he has still risen after that fall which is very unlikely for a gangster story. This was more of a human story, allowed you to explore his area of Mumbai which was controlled by this man. A story of a man who was not called 'dada', or 'don' but daddy because he obviously must have touched a lot of hearts. But then at the same time, we had to take care to not make this a propaganda. He was also a confide of Dawood Ibrahim but then he did not run away, he served his sentence, came out and wanted to reform but the society thought has he reformed or not or is it just a mask? So there was a lot to explore."
The film also stars Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role. In an interview, talking about her role, she said, “I was almost like a newborn baby on the set. He is such a humble star and always supported me very well. Even when he used to introduce me to someone, he would say, 'she is an extraordinary performer and a brilliant actress'. had to put in a lot of effort to stand where I’m today. I have built my career brick by brick to reach this level. It was definitely not a cakewalk."
