IIFA Awards 2017: Alia Bhatt dances, sings and raps her heart out at the event
Alia Bhatt steals the spotlight at the IIFA Awards 2017.
The IIFA Awards 2017 have come and gone and we can surely say that the highlight of the ceremony had to be Alia Bhatt. Not only did Alia deservedly take home the trophy for Best Actress for her raw, brave and honest portrayal as Bauria in Udta Punjab but she also burned the dance floor with her scintillating performance.
She danced to her now trademark song Radha from her debut movie Student of the Year and then went on to perform the title track and Tamma Tamma Again from her recent hit movie, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, She later pulled her BKD co-star Varun Dhawan and they danced heartily to the title track of their movie.
She also awarded her Udta Punjab co-star Diljit Dosanjh with his Best Debut Actor award and later the two crooned together to Ikk Kudi from their movie.
During IIFA Rocks, which took place yesterday, Alia tried her hand at rapping with hosts Riteish Deshmukh and Maniesh Paul. She rapped a verse from the song Kar Gayi Chull from her movie Kapoor & Sons which also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan.
Looks like Alia as brushed up her rapping skills as she will be starring alongside Ranveer Singh in Gully Boys which is based on street rappers and is being helmed by Zoya Akhtar.
On working with Ranveer in Gully Boys, Alia told a leading daily, "Ranveer is just crazy. I have a complete blast when I am working with him since he is so mad that you can’t help but ask, 'Listen, are you okay? All’s good in the hood?' because this isn’t normal behaviour. But that’s what I love about him: that he is so out there with his enthusiasm. And it’s all real and nothing is made up, which is why I feel people connect with him and love him so much."
