IIFA Awards 2017: Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt celebrate their big win for Udta Punjab together

The star studded IIFA Awards 2017 has finally come to an end in New York City. The evening ended with the Udta Punjab stars Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt winning the Best Actor and Actress awards respectively.

Alia took to her Instagram page and shared a Boomerang with Shahid Kapoor. Both the talents are seen playing with the IIFA trophy. Alia captioned the video saying, "Here's to Udta Punjab  @shahidkapoor"

Whereas Shahid stated, "#Udtapunjab double whammy. Tommy and Mary Jane. Congratulations @aliabhatt."

Even Diljit Dosanjh congratulated his co-stars for their win. He tweeted, "Congrats to @shahidkapoor Bhaji & @aliaa08 ji for winning the #BestActor & #BestActress Award for #UdtaPunjab. @IIFA"

Even he won the Best Debut Award (Male) for Udta Punjab and received the trophy from Alia.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia will soon start shooting for Meghna Gulzar's Raazi opposite Vicky Kaushal. She will also be seen in Gully Boys opposite Ranveer Singh. The Zoya Akhtar directorial will go on floors in the month of November. Alia also has Dragon by Ayan Mukerji, where she will be seen alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The team will start shooting for the flick next year.

Coming to Shahid, he is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. In the period drama, Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh alongside Deepika Padukone who will play the titular role and Ranveer Singh, who is the main antagonist Allaudin Khilji. Padmavati is slated to release on November 17, 2017.
