Padmavati Controversy: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's effigy set on fire by Karni Sena members in Mumbai
Going by the reports, the members of Karni Sena have now set fire to the effigy of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Nalasopara in Mumbai.
Ever since Sanjay Leela Bhansali has announced Padmavati, controversies around the film have refused to die down anytime soon. Just days back, the sets of the film were vandalized in Kohlapur.
Shobha Sant, CEO Bhansali Productions confirmed to us and said, "A few people entered and had put the set on fire in the early morning hours. There is no damage to life or properties as such. The main cast wasn't present at that time. However, our costumes are completely damaged."
Now, going by the reports, the members of the Karni Sena have set fire to the effigy of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Nalasopara in Mumbai. One of the videos has also gone viral.
Earlier, Karni Sena members created a ruckus on the sets in Jaipur and even went on to the extent of physically assaulting Bhansali. Karni Sena protesters have an issue with the alleged scene in the film that would see the Padmini Queen and Allaudin Khilji getting intimate. Deepika Padukone will be seen playing the role of Rani Padmini and Ranveer Singh will be stepping into the shoes of Allaudin Khilji.
The statement from Bhansali Productions had clarified that there is no scene as such. It reads as, “We clarify that there is no dream sequence or any objectionable scene between Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji. We have been carefully researching and making the film. In spite of this, the attack on the shoot and crew was uncalled for and was extremely damaging to the image of the beautiful city of Jaipur. We are grateful to the authorities at Jaipur who responded promptly and limited the damage on shoot.”
Will the issues settle down soon? This only time will tell!
