Virat Kohli took to Twitter to announce that he has been awarded with the prestigious Padma Shri award on the 68th Republic Day.
Parades, hoisting the Indian flag, singing the national anthem and the feeling of patriotism that evokes within - is what happens on the Republic Day.
Well, for the Indian captain Virat Kohli, January 26 went onto become a very special day for he was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri award.
He took to Twitter to share his feelings. "It's a privilege to be awarded with Padmashree & to announce it on the 68th Republic Day made it even more special," read his tweet.
Isn't it quite an honour at such an early age! Thanks to his brilliant performances at the cricket pitch. He also gave a message in the form of a video on Instagram to his fans on Republic Day.
He wrote, "Happy republic day to everyone. More power to all out there to make a positive change around you. Jai hind. #merabharatmahan."
In the video, Virat said that we all should take this opportunity to make our nation better and take it to a level it belongs to.
