While a bunch of pre-independence movies has already been filmed, the trailer of Gurinder Chadha’s Viceroy’s House narrating the true story of the final few months before independence will surely touch your heart.
Chronicling the last six months of Lord Mountbatten, the last viceroy in 1947, the trailer reflects on a variety of themes including religious intolerance, partition, political upheaval and love.
The Indian and Pakistani characters have been portrayed by Huma Qureshi, Manish Dayal and Om Puri.
The British cast in the movie includes Hugh Bonneville( Lord Mountbatten), Gillian Anderson ( Lady Mountbatten), Lily Travers, and Michael Gambon and Simon Callow.
Produced by Deepak Nayar, Paul Mayeda Berges and Gurinder, the movie will hit the cinemas on March 3.
