Ever since Tisca Chopra announced her production venture, Chutney, there was a certain kind of interest in how will the story shape up. Starring Tisca Chopra, Adil Hussain and Rasika Duggal, the short film Chutney unveils the story of a simple housewife, her dominating husband and an over-friendly newly married neighbor who is seen flirting with Tisca's husband at a party.
The story is set in Model Town. Duggal tries to make friendly advances to Chopra's husband Adil Hussain at a get-together and she watches it and the next day, Duggal comes to learn how Tisca cooks such awesome food. There, she is served pakoras and chutney - which is the main motif of the story.
Rasika likes it and demands to know how it is made. Tisca replies,"Chutney banana kya mushkil hai. Dhaniya, pudina, imli, mircha, nimboo - Par bazaar ka nahi, ghar ka hona chaiye." Here's when the dark secret of the family starts unfolding. Tisca tells her the story of their servant, Bhola, who was killed at the end.
