Must Watch! When Rekha sang a Tamil song at her sister’s Hospital inauguration event
Rekha was in Chennai few months back, to inaugurate her half-sister--Kamala Selvaraj’s GG Super speciality hospital. Rekha, seemed reluctant to speak, however, broke into a classic Tamil film song.
Dr.Kamal Selvaraj , a famous Gynecologist based in Chennai , holds the record of commissioning the first test tube baby of South India in 1990.
Rekha's father, yesteryear Tamil actor, Gemini Ganesan, was fondly called as 'Kadhal Mannan' (Romance King) for his onscreen roles and off-screen persona.Ganesan married four times in his life. Through his first, T.R.Alamelu (Bobji Amma), wife he had four daughters. Dr Revathi Swaminathan, eldest daughter, a radiation oncologist in the US. Dr Kamala Selvaraj, second daughter, runs the G G Hospital in Chennai. Narayani Ganesan is a journalist with The Times Of India in Delhi. The youngest is Dr Jaya Shreedhar, a health advisor with Inter News Network.
Rekha and Radha are Gemini Ganesan's daughters from actress Pushpavalli, and Vijaya Chamundeswari, daughter of actress Savithri, is a fitness expert working at the G G Hospital.
Ganesan remained married to his first wife till his death; he married legendary south Indian actress Savithri, and later actress Puspavalli with his first wife’s blessings. Rekha and her sisters, along with actor turned politico Jayalaitha, attended the Church Park Convent in then Madras.
Ganesan, at the age of 78 married his fourth wife, then 36-year-old Juliana.
