Most of us know that Dia Mirza’s tryst with the big screen began when she essayed the lead role in 2000 release Rehna Hain Tere Dil Mein. While it is true that the romantic-comedy was the first movie to feature her in the lead, it wasn’t her very first appearance on the big screen.
In 1999, almost a year before she bagged the Miss Asia Pacific title, Dia made a special appearance in a Tamil movie titled En Swasa Katre. In it, she features in the catchy song Jumbalaka Jumbalaka and sports a light orange dress.
For the uninitiated, En Swasa Katre was a flop at the box office but boasted of some catchy music from none other than AR Rahman. As far as Dia is concerned, she has maintained a low profile of late. In 2014, she had produced the Vidya Balan starrer Bobby Jasoos. Touted as a comedy-drama, it under performed at the box office.
