Watch! Saina Nehwal wants Deepika Padukone to Star in Her Biopic!
Reports of a biopic being made on Badminton Champion Saina Nehwal have been doing the rounds for a while now. Though no official announcement of the cast or the film has been made yet, the speculations as to who would bag the role has already begun.
Among many names, the obvious name that has been associated with this biopic is that of Deepika Padukone. Given that the actress loves the sport and is also the daughter of ace Badminton player Prakash Padukone, one isn't surprised to see her being considered for the role.
Incidentally, Saina herself is also of the same opinion. At the NDTV awards held last night, when Saina was asked her recommendation for the lead role in the biopic, she thought for a while and then replied, "Of course, the lovely Deepika Padukone. Her father has been a badminton player and she used to play badminton. I have seen her play and she is good. I feel she will do justice to the role and I really wish she can do it and I hope Deepika is listening to me."
An ecstatic Deepika, who was sitting in the audience couldn't contain her excitement. When asked to give her reaction to it, the lovely actress said, "I would love to. We have played together and she was way better than me, clearly she said 'Deepika was good'. And of course anything for the love of sport, especially for Badminton."
We agree to Saina and feel Dippy is indeed the right choice for the role. What do you think?
