It was a pleasant site when veteran actress Rekha went and hugged Jaya Bachchan at an award show. What was even more surprising is that she hugged her when Amitabh Bachchan was bestowed with Best Actor award for Piku along with Ranveer Singh, who won for Bajirao Mastani.
For those who didn't understand what was so eye grabbing in that moment, let us tell you the reason behind it. In the 80s Rekha and Jaya were at loggerheads, thanks to former's closeness to latter's husband. Rekha and Big B's silsila didn't go down well with Jaya and things haven't been fine between them. In fact, Amitabh and Rekha, who were once a hit on-screen pair, haven't worked together since then, for reasons best known to them.
However, when the two ladies greeted and hugged each other at the award show, it kind of surprised all the onlookers. Interestingly, when the award show was aired last night, it also clearly showed how Rekha was enthusiastically cheering for Amitabh Bachchan.
We wonder what triggered Rekha to go and hug Jaya with such excitement. Any guesses?
