Upcoming film by director of Nam Joo Hyuk's Josée starring Kpop legend IU reveals release date
IU’s much awaited movie Shades of Heart’s release has been announced. Read on to know more!
Lee Ji Eun, popularly known as IU is both a formidable singer and an actor. She’s been a lead actor in various hits such as Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016) and Hotel del Luna (2019). Already having acting prowess, her fans, called UAENA love the actress’ ability to flow through singing and acting like water.
Her upcoming movie opposite the Arang and the Magistrate actor Yeon Woo Jin, titled Shades of Heart is reportedly going to be released in theatres on March 31. This is the first time the movie will be open to the public. The first release of the movie was in the 20th Jeonju International Film Festival through the Jeonju Cinema Project. The movie will now be released through ATNine Film. As for OTT releases, nothing has been announced as of yet.

Directed by the impeccable storyteller Kim Jong Kwan, many people inside and outside the industry are looking forward to this movie. A critically acclaimed director, especially for inventive short stories, his notable works include Josée, The Table, and Netflix’s web anthology series, Persona (starring IU).
The movie’s concept is of friendship. Chang Seok (played by Woo Jin) comes back to Korea seven years after his wife’s death with a wish to publish a novel based on his life. He ends up meeting different people who are living their own mysterious lives. These stories interest Chang Seok and he started writing a new story. The different stories, different lives each character lives is what will captivate the audience.
The solo posters with a quote each from a character, is already gaining attention. The dialogues in the poster and the captions give a glimpse into the many different lives which are going to be unfolded on the big screen.
