We are looking back at February 2020, when actor Kim Nam Gil opened up about his favourite artists in the music industry and revealed how he became a member of the ARMY. In an interview with Herald Pop, the actor opened up about his confession at the 34th Golden Disc Awards, where he said that he watches BTS videos every night before going to sleep.
In the interview, Kim Nam Gil explained that he remembers BTS’ Jin once saying that he began dreaming of becoming an actor after seeing my acting in the drama The Great Queen Seondeok, which was back when BTS wasn’t as famous as they have become, but people around the actor told him about what Jin had said, and that’s when he initially became interested in the group.
He then admitted that that’s when he started looking up videos of BTS on YouTube, and he liked that they were really hard-working. He also stated that he spent a lot of time looking up videos of their song Boy With Luv. Expressing pride in BTS’s accomplishments overseas, Kim Nam Gil said that after the boys started receiving global attention, and performing worldwide, the actor felt proud to see the world getting excited about Korean people. Finally, when asked about his declaration at the Golden Disc Awards, he confirmed with a laugh, “I really do watch BTS videos before falling asleep.”
