THROWBACK to when BLACKPINK's Lisa and Rosé's shared their candid first impressions of each other
We are looking back at October 2020, when Lisa and Rosé shared what they truly feel about each other in one of the most sequences of BLACKPINK's Netflix documentary, Light Up The Sky. Read on to find out.
Recently, Rosé released her debut solo album R, accompanied by the operatic title track, On The Ground and the mellow, bitter-sweet track Gone. Rosé's solo debut opened to a thunderous response from BLINKS across the world. On The Ground racked an impressive 3,262,615 streams in the first 24 hours since its release. This is the first for a K-pop solo artist. That's not all, she performed on SBS' Inkigayo, receiving an amazing response from fans. But there was a special someone, who sent Rosé flowers and a lovely card with a sweet message on it.
It was Lisa, BLACKPINK's maknae and a fellow 97-liner in the group. Rosé put a picture with Lisa on Instagram, with the caption, "Look who came through today." Even though Lisa had her face covered, BLINKS immediately recognised her and flooded Rosé's comments with ChaeLisa and heart emoticons. For the uninitiated, Rosé's Korean name is Park Chaeyoung. Today, we look back at one of the most crucial sequences of BLACKPINK's documentary, Light Up The Sky, where Rosé and Lisa recall their first impressions of one another in a candid chat. Lisa recalled that she thought Rosé was a competition back in the day, to which Rosé remarked that she was actually intimidated because everyone was so talented!
Lisa shared in a voice-over that since she and Rosé were of the same age and had similar tastes, they bonded in no time. Also, since they belonged to different countries, they relied on each other when the situation was tough. "We became like two peas in a pod. We were like genuine twins." Lisa shared fondly, to which Rosé expressed that Lisa is like a sister to her. Sweet, Cheers to ChaeLisa and their eternal friendship.
