Sri Lanka vs Australia, ICC World Cup 2019: Key players to watch out for

The defending champions and five times World Cup winners rank 3rd in the points table and have won three out of four games played in the tournament. With an extravagant bowling line-up, the Australian team has managed to find that perfect balance. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, failed to create any significant impact and has been a victim of the rain gods twice in a row where they had to share their crucial point. They have won one game and lost the other and will look forward to bounce back in the tournament. Let’s have a look at key players both the teams.

David Warner (Australia)- Australia won the previous game against the Men in Green by his brilliant batting where he managed to register his first century post the ball-tampering ban. He smashed 107 runs off 111 deliveries with a strike rate of 96.40. His consistency makes him one of the greatest batsmen of all times. Prior to this, he scored an excellent half century against the Men in Green and a solid 89 not out against Afghanistan. His form and consistency over the years uplifts the team’s top order and helps them to put on a mighty total at the end of 50 overs.

Nuwan Pradeep (Sri Lanka)- Sri Lanka has been unable to play its previous two games due to interference of rain in the matches. However, when the team last encountered Afghanistan June 4th, it was Nuwan Pradeep that managed to provide the team a much needed breakthrough. He picked up 4 wickets in 9 overs and gave away only 31 runs with a bowling economy of 3.44.
