International Women's Day 2021: Let's take a look at the women directors who have changed the face of the South Indian film industry in the past few years.
There has been an exponential increase in the number of women filmmakers in the southern film industry in the last decade. There is no denying that Indian cinema is riding high and proudly on the wave of new-generation women directors. They are making good content films, which have managed to create magic even in terms of numbers at the box office. Carving out a position in men dominated industry is not a small thing and women directors like Meghna Gulzar for Raazi and Nandini Reddy for Oh Baby, have carved their niche in the Indian film industry with powerful content-oriented films.
It's International Women's Day 2021 tomorrow, and since our cinema is evolving and moving upwards with the girl tribe, let's take a look at the women directors who have changed the face of the South Indian film industry in the past few years.

Her last film Oh Baby starring Samantha Akkineni opened to a phenomenal response from the audience and critics alike. BV Nandini Reddy’s latest Meera from Telugu anthology Pitta Kathalu made her step out of the comfort zone with an unbelievable and clever plot. For the first time, she tried her hands on dark content and she left our jaws wide open.
