When Samantha Akkineni wore revealing outfit for the 1st time post marriage: Told myself things have to change
Sam has created her name in the fashion world as well. However, the road to success and being what she is today was not an easy one.
South beauty Samantha Akkineni made her acting debut with Gautham Menon's critically acclaimed Telugu romance film, Ye Maaya Chesave, co-starring Naga Chaitanya. She has completed 10 years in the industry and has established her career in Telugu and Tamil cinema. She is also making her Hindi web debut with The Famil Man Season 2. Sam has created her name in the fashion world as well. However, the road to success and being what she is today was not an easy one. Post her marriage with Naga Chaitanya, Sam was trolled for her choice of clothes.
In a throwback interview with Hyderabad Times, Samantha Akkineni opened up that she was trolled for wearing revealing clothes after the marriage. "I remember, the first time when I wore something revealing after marriage, I was trolled terribly and it was very, very hard. But I noticed that when I did it the second time, it was not so bad. It's all about taking that first step. I'm not going to say that I did something brave. I was scared of the repercussions and of the trolling. But at the same, I told myself that things have to change and I'm going to do as much as I can to be a part of that change," the Majili actress had said.
Meanwhile, Sam has started shooting for Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, directed by Vignesh Shivan. Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal also has Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in lead roles.
She is also playing a lead role in the upcoming mythological drama Shaakuntalam is being directed by Gunasekhar. "I’ve always wished to play a princess and have been waiting for a film like Shaakuntalam all along. I am super excited to be on-board for this project," Samantha said today at the film's launch ceremony in Hyderabad. Dev Mohan plays the male lead in the film.
