Vijay Sethupathi on Muttiah Muralitharan biopic: The film will not hurt anyone's sentiments
Vijay Sethupathi will star in the biopic based on the legendary Sri Lankan spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan. While talking about the film the actor says he will apologize if the film hurts anyone’s sentiment.
Vijay Sethupathi is all set to star in the biopic based on the legendary Sri Lankan spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan. The moment this news was announced many political outfits called out on the actor for selecting this script where he will be portraying the Sri Lankan spinner. The Muttiah Muralitharan biopic is a highly anticipated film as the spinner is a world renowned cricketer. There was also rumours that the actors after the outrage of the political outfits had decided to drop the film. But, after few days, the megastar confirmed that he will not be quitting the Muttiah Muralitharan biopic and will star as the legendary Sri Lankan spinner.
The uproar against the actor was said to be rising out of the fact that Vijay Sethupathi had hurt the Tamil sentiments by giving his nod to essay the Sri Lankan spinner. Vijay Sethupathi who was recently awarded at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne for the film, Super Deluxe said in an interview with Vikatan, that the Muttiah Muralitharan biopic will not hurt anyone's sentiment and he said so very confidently.
As per reports. the actor also said that if the film hurts anyone's sentiment then he will personally apologize for it. He also says that the fans who have supported him and appreciated his work will not let down by the biopic. The actor also mentions in the interview that he is not aware of the game of cricket. He has to learn the game from its very basics. The actor is expected to train hard to get the technical aspects of the game right as it is said to be one of the most challenging roles that the actor has given his nod to.
