Vijay Deverakonda & Ananya Panday’s Liger to hit the big screens on September 9; Karan Johar shares new poster
Karan Johar took to his Twitter space and shared a new poster of Liger while announcing that the film will be released on September 9.
Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday will be joining hands for the first time in director Puri Jagannadh's much-anticipated film Liger. Jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Karan Johar and Charmme Kaur, the makers have now announced that the film will hit the big screens on September 9. Sharing an unseen poster, Karan Johar announced the news and wrote, “All set to pack a punch around the globe! #Liger is releasing in theatres on 9th September worldwide in 5 languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada & Malayalam.”
Yesterday, the makers of Liger announced that the film will be released in five languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Karan shared a video of Ananya Panday and Charmme Kaur, where the former expressed how excited she was about her first pan-India film. The first look poster of Vijay Deverakonda was shared on January 18. The poster had face of a Liger behind Deverakonda. Sharing it, the Geetha Govindham actor wrote, "Humbly announcing our arrival Pan India! Nation wide madness Guaranteed. Produced by @KaranJohar @DharmaMovies @Charmmeofficial @PuriConnects A @purijagan Film! #LIGER #SaalaCrossBreed (sic)."

It is highly anticipated that Vijay Deverakonda will be seen playing the role of a boxer in the film. Initially, the makers had titled the film, Fighter. Later, they changed it to Liger for unknown reasons. It marks Vijay Deverakonda's debut in Hindi and Ananya Panday's debut in Telugu. Liger will also feature actors Ramya Krishna and Ronit Roy in key roles.
