National Award-winning director Vetri Maaran is a well-known name in the Tamil film industry. The director is especially known for selecting unique themes for his film and also his style of filmmaking is often termed as raw by the viewers and critics. As per reports, the director is in talks with comedian Soori for his next film. It is believed that the comedian will be playing the lead role in this film. This film by Vetri Maaran is expected to be produced by Elred Kumar under the banner RS Infotainment. But, no official statement has been made about the film's casting.
The director has finished the shoot of his film titled Asuran with superstar Dhanush in the lead. The film is now in the post production stage. Asuran is expected to be a rural drama based on a Tamil novel called 'Vekkai'. This film will also star Manju Warrier as the female lead. Asuran marks the debut of the stunning actress Manju Warrier's debut in Tamil films. There was a strong buzz that Vetri Maaran's film with megastar Dhanush titled Vada Chennai 2 was shelved. But, the actor refuted the rumours saying they were false.
Dhanush also added that the fans should not believe in such rumours and must wait for an official announcement from the makers of this film. The film, Vada Chennai revolves around a carrom board player who turns into a gangster called Anbu essayed by Dhanush. Vada Chennai was an ambitious film for the director who was known for his films like Aadukalam and Visaaranai.
