Thala Ajith will soon be seen in Nerkonda Paarvai. The movie is the Tamil remake of Pink. Ajith will be reprising the role of Amitabh Bachchan in the movie. Producer Boney Kapoor talks about the possibilities of the film releasing in China.

Thala Ajith fans are preparing themselves for the release of Nerkonda Paarvai. The Tamil movie is the official remake of the Hindi film Pink. The original movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu Andrea Tariang and Kriti Kulhari in the lead. The Tamil version sees Ajtih fill the shoes of Big B while Shraddha Srinath portrays Taapsee's role. The Tamil version will be a tad different from the original movie as the trailers show Ajith in a few action sequences and Vidya Balan playing his wife's role.

While Nerkonda Paarvai's India release date has been locked, Boney Kapoor seems to be eyeing a China release for the Tamil flick. Speaking with The Hindu, the producer expressed his interest in releasing the Ajith led movie in the Chinese market. He also said that Bollywood has a huge potential in China.

"There’s huge potential in China. They have about 50,000 screens and they need content, which we produce a lot. Earlier, the Chinese State controlled which films would release but now there are private distributors too," he told the publication. Boney is no stranger to the China market. The producer released late actor Sridevi's movie Mom and collected $16 million in China. He also addressed the concept of remakes. "Although it is a remake, it is a bold step for a big hero to do this kind of role, where he is not doing formula-oriented things," he explained.

Speaking about the movie, Boney revealed that Amitabh's role was originally written for someone in Ajith's age group. "In fact, he (Chowdhury) had conceived Pink keeping a hero of Ajith's age group in mind but when Mr Bachchan came on board, he had to make some changes to adapt the script," he said. "We've kept in mind the star power of Ajith plus the kind of acceptance the subject would have in this region. I feel Vinoth has done a swell job," he said.
