The Uttarakhand glacier burst that occurred on Sunday has caused a lot of casualties. For the unversed, it was triggered by an avalanche that led to massive floods in the area. Not only that but the breaking of this glacier in Chamoli district damaged the Rishiganga dam that was built on the Alaknanda river. While several videos surfaced on the internet which displayed the disastrous impact of the natural calamity, netizens around the country were left shocked upon seeing the same.
The latest that we know that people in nearby areas have been evacuated and rescue operations are underway. As of now, seven bodies have been reportedly recovered while many are feared missing. Numerous celebs have taken to social media and prayed for those affected by the glacier burst. They have also condoled the tragic demise of those who succumbed to the disaster. Among them is Tamannaah Bhatia who took to Twitter and wrote, “My heart goes out to all the people affected by the glacier burst in #Uttarakhand.”
