Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy actor Chiranjeevi calls THIS Bollywood star as his real life mentor
Chiranjeevi will be seen in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy releasing this October. The actor was seen at the teaser launch of the movie and revealed his real-life mentor.
The Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy teaser was released yesterday and it has left fans intrigued about the South Indian movie. The movie stars the South superstar Chiranjeevi in the lead. The movie follows the journey of a Telugu freedom fighter named Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. He revolted against the Britishers. Apart from Chiranjeevi, the movie also stars Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Vijay Sethupathi, Kichcha Sudeep, Ravi Kishan and Jagapathi Babu. The movie also features a cameo by Amitabh Bachchan.
Amitabh plays Reddy's Guru in the movie. While he essays Chiranjeevi's on-screen mentor, the actor said that Big B is his off-screen mentor as well. According to a PTI report, the actor said during the teaser launch that Amitabh is his "real-life mentor." He added that he believes that Amitabh Bachchan is the only megastar and that there is nobody comes close to him.
"He is my real life mentor. There is only one megastar and that is Amitabh Bachchan and nobody is near to him. Working with him is an amazing experience. I am indebted to him a lot. My director wanted him to play the role of my guru in the film. It is a special character and he insisted me for Bachchan. So I called him and told him that I want him to play my guru in the film. It will take only a week's time. He immediately said yes. My heart felt thanks to the Indian megastar," he said.
Speaking with Film Companion, producer Ram Charan revealed that Amitabh did not allow Chiranjeevi or Ram Charan pay for his flight tickets. "He didn't even charge for his flight tickets. We couldn't push him after a point," Charan said. Chiranjeevi added, "That is a great thing. That way, Mr Bachchan didn't even allow me to keep a private jet for his travel. I asked him about his accommodation and he said that he's doing it for our friendship. We know each other for a long time. That way we are so lucky to have him on board."
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is produced by Ram Charan and distributed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani in Hindi. The movie is set to hit the cinemas on October 2.
