Suriya shares a pic with Akshay Kumar as he begins a new chapter on Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake

It is well known that Suriya's much-acclaimed film Soorarai Pottru is being remade in Hindi with himself as producer and Sudha Kongara wielding the megaphone. Now, the actor-producer shared a pic with Akshay Kumar to welcome him on board for the Hindi remake. Suriya is seen flaunting a big smile as he began a new journey on his first Hindi film.

Suriya took to Twitter and officially announced the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru with Akshay Kumar and Radhika Mandan. This film will mark the debut of Suriya as a producer in Hindi marked as he is bankrolling under his production house 2D entertainments. Suriya also attended that launch ceremony which happened in Mumbai along with the cast and crew. He also shared a dew pics on social media and asked for blessings from his fans as he begins a new journey. 

He tweeted, "A new begining… need all your love and blessings!!"

Soon after the official announcement in July, Suriya's 2D Entertainment faced a major hurdle when Soorarai Pottru's producer Guneet Monga's production house filed an injunction application at Madras High Court against the Hindi remake. However, the court ruled in favour of Suriya's 2D Entertainment.

Soorarai Pottru is a fictionalized account of the life of the retired Army Captain. G. R. Gopinath, who founded the low-cost airline, Air Deccan. Soorarai Pottru has been setting records ever since its release. It got selected as one among ten Indian films to be screened under the Best Foreign Film category at the Oscars 2021. With too many accolades and expectations, it is to be awaited and watch if the Hindi remake will impress the audiences as the original.
