Sumo trailer OUT: Shiva’s subtle humour will make your ribs tickled
The trailer of Mirchi Shiva's next film, Sumo was released on the actor's birthday. The movie will hit the big screens for Pongal 2020.
Mirchi Shiva, a well-known RJ turned actor will be next seen in Sumo. The comic actor, who celebrated his birthday yesterday, released the trailer of his upcoming movie. Shiva was last seen in the second installment of Tamil Padam. Directed by CS Anudhan, the spoof movie had Iswarya Menon as the female lead. Coming back to Sumo, the film is directed by SP Hosimen and bankrolled by Ishari K Ganesh under the banner Vels Film International. Priya Anand will be seen as the female lead and Nivas K Prasanna is composing the music.
It is being said that the film was majorly shot in Japan and Chennai. Cinematography for the film was done by National Award-winning ace filmmaker Rajiv Menon. The film is expected to hit the big screen for Pongal 2020, clashing with Rajinikanth's Darbar. As far as the trailer is concerned, it has all the elements one would expect from a Shiva movie - Hilarious sequences with Shiva’s evergreen witty and spontaneously humorous portions. It can be said from the trailer that Shiva is helping a sumo wrestler to become successful.

Coming to the movie’s cast, Shiva and Priya Anand have already shared screen space in Vanakkam Chennai a few years ago and Sumo will be their second film together. The film also has VTV Ganesh and Yogi Babu in prominent roles. Apparently, about 18 sumo wrestlers have been roped in to be a part of the cast. Meanwhile, Shiva’s movie with Venkat Prabhu – Party, is yet to be released. Touted to be a casino-based comedy film, it was written and directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by T Siva under Amma Creations production banner.
