Shankar’s next after Indian 2 to be a historical magnum opus with Yash in a lead role?
Reports suggest that the film will be the biggest budget film ever made in Indian cinema and it will be a historical drama.
In what looks like an interesting piece of news, Kannada star Yash will be playing one of the lead roles in what is reported to be the biggest film ever made in Indian cinema directed by Shankar. Apparently, the magnum opus will have stars from across the country and the makers are holding talks with Ram Charan too for a lead role. According to a report in DT Next, the film will be rolled out in 2022 and the makers are eyeing to release it in 2027.
However, it was also mentioned in the report that the film will be started only after Shankar finishes his ongoing project, Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan. About 60 percent of Indian 2’s shooting is reportedly completed and the makers are looking forward to resuming the shooting soon. It was reported earlier that the makers wanted Shankar to cut down the production cost. Though Shankar reduced the production cost, the makers wanted him to reduce it further.
Indian 2 has Kamal Haasan as the lead actor, while Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal and Siddharth will be seen playing the key roles. Meanwhile, Yash is currently awaiting the release of his pan Indian film KGF: 2 directed by Prashanth Neel. The film has Sanjay Dutt as the main antagonist, while Srinidhi Shetty and Raveena Tandon will be seen along with them. Ahead of Yash’s birthday, the makers released the film’s teaser and it was a grand success.
