16 years ago, Mahesh Babu made Kurnool Kondareddy Buruju iconic with his blockbuster film Okkadu (2003). The superstar is back to the same location for Sarileru Neekevvaru, but this time, the makers of the film have created Kurnool Kondareddy Buruju of Kurnool city at Ramoji Film City. Mahesh Babu has kickstarted the shoot of the film at Ramajo and the makers have released the first still with Kondareddy fort in the backdrop and Mahesh Babu’s silhouette image in the foreground.
“16 years ago, this location became iconic on the silver screen. Now we are back to the same location. This time we aim to make it bigger. Our production designer A.S Prakash garu recreated the location spectacularly. The man who brought Kurnool Kondareddy Buruju to Ramoji Film City,” director Anil Ravipudi tweeted. To unreversed, Mahesh Babu's movie Okkadu, which released in 2003 was shot on the actual location of Kondareddy Buruju in Kurnool. However, the makers decided to recreate the set at Ramoji film city as it would have been impossible to control the crowd if shot at an actual location.
Sarileru Neekevvaru is slated for Sankranthi 2020 release and will see Mahesh Babu in the role of Major Ajay. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead and veteran actress Vijayashanti is making comeback with this Mahesh Babu starrer. The much-awaited film is produced by AK Entertainments and Dil Raju’s SVC jointly.
