Ram Gopal Varma lands in trouble for sharing morphed photos of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on social media
An activist from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) complained against RGV for sharing morphed photos on Facebook, depicting TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu joining YSR Congress Party.
Film-maker Ram Gopal Verma, who has often landed up in controversies, found himself in another one this week when an activist from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) complained against him for sharing morphed photos on Facebook, depicting TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu joining YSR Congress Party. The doctored social media post hurt sentiments of TDP workers and a complaint was filed in Andhra Pradesh's Tadepalli Gudem rural police station in West Godavari district, reported India Today.
The report further stated that an activist named Devibabu Chowdary filed the complaint. "I complained against Ram Gopal Varma in Tadepalli Gudem rural police station in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. I had already complained in Telangana. Reason for present complaint is that he morphed the photo of Chandrababu Naidu as if he is joining in YSRCP and posted it on social media. That is provocative," Chowdary told a portal.
The post which was shared by RGV on April 13 clearly shows a badly photoshopped image of Naidu greeting YSR Congress Part's Jaganmohan Reddy. RGV captioned the post as, "Wowwww in a shocking twist, just now CBN joined YSRCP." While many followers laughed it off, TDP workers were obviously hurt by the post. Check out the post below:
Chowdary has also alleged that RGV's posts and comments are "disturbing the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh". The film-maker has also reportedly made derogatory comments about Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmani and her father Balakrishna. For now, the police are investigating the matter and an FIR has been filed.
