The Indian cinema is slowly but steadily getting back to normal amidst COVID-19 pandemic. Cinema halls have reopened after almost 10 months and filmmakers are waiting for the grand releases. Film exhibitors and cinema hall owners have welcomed this decision. However, a few film industries are upset with the limitation of 50% occupancy. Kannada Film industry has come together and is rooting for 100 per cent occupancy in cinemas. Kannada actors Rakshit Shetty and Dhruva Sarja took to Twitter and have asked Karnataka CM to review the decision. 

Irked Rakshit Shetty tweeted, "While every other public area continues to bustle with people, Karnataka has once again limited the theatre occupancy to 50%. Why? Are we forgetting that cinema is a means of livelihood for many across the state #KFIDemandsFullOccupancy @drashwathcn @CMofKarnataka @mla_sudhakar." 

Dhruva Sarja who is looking forward to the release of his upcoming film Pogaru, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna expressed his anger over the same and requested for 100 per cent occupancy in theatres for KFI. 

KGF director Prashanth Neel has also taken to his Twitter account and posted a photo demanding the approval of full occupancy.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president DR Jairaj stated that he would soon meet the Chief Minister of Karnataka and discuss the issue along with other members of the industry. 

To note, the Tamil Nadu government recently permitted 100 per cent occupancy in theatres, while the other three southern states namely Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala are expected to permit a full capacity in theatres soon.
