Rajinikanth’s next after Annaatthe to be helmed by Petta director Karthik Subbaraj?

It is known that Rajinikanth is currently taking a rest after suffering an ailment during the shooting of his upcoming film Annaatthe. The film was being shot in Hyderabad when four crew members tested positive for COVID 19 and the shooting was brought to a halt. Now, media reports suggest that his next film will be directed by Karthik Subbaraj, who helmed the blockbuster film Petta. However, there is no official announcement regarding this collaboration.

Meanwhile, Karthik Subbaraj is currently awaiting the release of his next film titled Jagame Thandhiram with Dhanush as the lead actor and Aishwarya Lekshmi as the leading lady. The film made the headlines a couple of days back after the fans of Dhanush demanded a theatrical release for the film. Dhanush will be directed a gangster flick with Dhruv Vikram and Chiyaan Vikram in the lead roles. It is expected that an update about the same will be made soon. Apart from that, he also has the Hollywood film titled as The Gray Man helmed by the Russo brothers.

On the other hand, Rajinikanth will be next seen in Annaatthe directed by Siruthai Siva and bankrolled by Sun Pictures. The film has four leading ladies namely Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khushbu Sundar and Meena as the leading ladies. Prakash, Soori and Sathish will be seen playing some key roles. Touted to be a rural drama, the makers recently announced that the film will hit the big screens on Diwali 2021. Hearsay has that the shooting process will be resumed from this month.
