As Rajinikanth turns 69 today, the actor has been getting birthday wishes from his fans and celebrities. His birthday is being celebrated so much so that it has occupied the number 1 trend in Twitter. While celebrities are sending sweet messages to the superstar, Karthik Subbaraj Tweeted an unreleased poster of Rajinikanth from the movie Petta. Karthik Subbaraj directed the movie, in which Rajinikanth played the lead role. With the photo, he wrote, “Happy birthday Thalaivaa... Here's an unreleased poster -  Thalaivar birthday special from #Petta team...”

After the last few movies, which showed Rajinikanth in a subtle way, Petta came as a huge treat to the fans of the superstar. While the music was composed by Anirudh Ravichandar, the move had lead actors including Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Simran, Trisha, Sasikumar in prominent roles. The movie was a huge hit in the box office and it was critically acclaimed too.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is gearing up for his next film Darbar, which will be released in Pongal 2020. Lady superstar Nayanthara is playing the female lead in the film and it was directed by AR Murugadoss. Music was composed by Anirudh Ravichandar and the audio was launched recently. A single track Chumma Kizhi was released before the audio launch and it was received with tremendous cheer. Rajinikanth will be working with Siruthai Siva for his next and the film, tentatively titled Thalaivar 168. Senior actors like Meena, Khushbu and Prakash Raj will be seen in key roles. Keerthy Suresh, Soori and Sathish are also roped in for Thalaivar 168.
