Rajinikanth, an iconic superstar of Indian cinema has been an inspiration to many over the years. The Superstar made his film debut at the age of 25 in a Tamil film called Apoorva Raagangal and since then there is no looking back. Thalaivar’s first Hindi film was Andha Kanoon, which released in 1982. The Padma Vibhushan awardee has witnessed an incredible journey. However, the road to success was not easy for Rajinikanth. He was born as Shivaji Rao Gaikwad on 12th December 1950, in a Marathi family.

As his family was going through the severe financial crisis; Rajinikanth took odd jobs such as an office boy, a coolie, a carpenter, in Mysore Machinery and at one time, he earned money by loading rice sacks. He also took the job of a bus conductor and became popular amongst the passenger over his unique sense of dressing. At the same time, he acted in a few Kannada stage plays and watched a lot of films, imitated Sivaji Ganesan, Rajkumar and M. G. Ramachandran. His passion for acting increased with each passing day. Today, millions of his fans worldwide await the release of his films with bated breath and worship no less like a GOD.

On the work front, Rajinikanth will be seen in AR Murugadoss’ upcoming film Darbar in which the superstar will be seen in the role of a cop. The second schedule of superstar Rajinikanth starrer Darbar is currently underway in Jaipur. Rajinikanth tasted success with Karthik Subbaraj's Petta. The film received a blockbuster response from the audience and critics alike.
