Rajinikanth bestowed with Icon of Golden Jubilee Award at IFFI 2019 for his contribution to the Indian cinema

Known as one of the biggest superstars of Indian cinema, Rajinikanth is to be conferred with Icon of Golden Jubilee Award at the 50th International Film Festival of India, Goa. The I&B Minister, Prakash Javadekar announced about the same. The superstar thanked the Government for the honour.

For all the Rajinikanth fans, happy news came in this morning. The superstar of Indian cinema will be honoured with Icon of Golden Jubilee Award at the 50th International Film Festival of India, Goa. Rajinikanth will be bestowed with this honour for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema over the years and the Central Minister of Information and Broadcasting announced the same news on Twitter as well. Since it’s the Golden Jubilee year, this award is extremely special and Rajinikanth fans started rejoicing about the same as soon as it was announced. 

The Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar wrote on Twitter, “In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, during the past several decades, I am happy to announce that the award for the ICON OF GOLDEN JUBILEE OF #IFFI2019 is being conferred on cine star Shri S Rajnikant. IFFIGoa50.” Later, Rajinikanth also took to Twitter to thank the Government for this honour. The Darbar superstar tweeted to and expressed his gratitude. Many of his fans also commented on his tweet and wished the superstar on being bestowed with this honour.

Rajinikanth tweeted, “I thank the government of India for this prestigious honour bestowed upon me on the golden jubilee of the International film festival of India #IFFI2019.” The IFFI takes place each year. But this year is more special as it marks a milestone for the festival as well. The festival will take place between November 20 to November 28 and a number of films will be screened at the same. The Central Minister also announced that French actor Isabelle Huppert will be honoured with a Lifetime achievement award. The festival will also showcase 7 to 8 films of Amitabh Bachchan as well.
