Mammootty starrer The Priest, one of the much-awaited Malayalam films has finally released today in cinemas. Also starring Manju Warrier in the lead role, the horror mystery film is directed by debutant Jofin T. Chacko. The film marks the first collaboration of Mammootty and Manju Warrier in their career and moviegoers are super excited. The Malayalam film was initially scheduled to release in August 2020. Post lockdown relaxations and since the audience is getting back in theatres, makers of The Priest decided to release the film on the big screen. 

Ahead of the film's grand release, Dulquer Salmaan also shared that he is thrilled about his father Mammootty starrer The Priest. He wrote on Facebook, "I’m super thrilled about the release of The Priest in theatres tomorrow. Hearing the best things from everyone who’ve watched it. It’ll be a treat in the cinemas ! All the best to the amazing team. I am sure it will be loved !" Meanwhile,the cinema halls across the state have been witnessing a huge crowd as fans have gathered to grab the tickets of Mammootty starrer.

The Priest is directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko and is bankrolled by B Unnikrishnan and Anto Joseph under their production banners RD Illuminations and Anto Joseph Film Company, respectively. The film also features Nikhila Vimal, Sreenath Bhasi, Saniya Iyappan, Jagadish, Madhupal, Baby Monica, TG Ravi and Ameya Mathew in the supporting cast.
