The film opened to a massive response by the audience and critics alike. Now, the stunner has moved on to the next project. Samantha Akkineni has kicked started shooting for the Telugu remake of Tamil movie 96. The film will see Sharwanand in the male lead. Originally starred Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, 96 is one of the most successful romantic blockbusters of Kollywood.

The film earned a number of awards. Sam is currently shooting for the film at a private hotel in Hyderabad. One can see in the pictures, Samantha dressed in a traditional look, holding mic as she shoots for a particular scene. The Majili actress will be stepping into Trisha’s shoes for 96 Telugu remake and moviegoers have high expectations. Produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, music for the Telugu version will be composed by Govind Vasantha who also composed for the original. Earlier, director Prem Kumar clarified that there would be no major changes made in the script of the original. The story of 96 revolves around two childhood sweethearts who meet each other 20 years later at their school reunion event. How their love story unfolds forms the crux of the film.
