Nagarjuna Akkineni denies rumours of IT raid at his office; Says ‘This is news to me’
Nagarjuna Akkineni, who was last seen hosting Bigg Boss Telugu season 3, has cleared the air about an income tax department raid at his office. Here’s what he said.
Days after the income tax department conducted a raid on producer Suresh Babu's Ramanaidu Studios and seized some important documents, there have been reports that the south superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni also came on their radar. The media reports suggested that the IT department had raided Nagarjuna’s office lately. While the news raised a lot of eyebrows, the senior actor has vehemently rubbished the news and claimed that he isn’t aware of any such development.
The former Bigg Boss Telugu 3 host took to Twitter and cleared the air about the rumoured income tax raid. Nagarjuna stated that he got to know about the rumours from some of his friends who had called him to ask him about the income tax raid. And while the reports came as a shock to him, he clarified that nothing this sort happened with him. The Manmadhudu 2 actor tweeted as “Quite a few of my friends have been calling me and asking me if I had raid from the income tax department!! This is news to me no such raid has happened on me or my offices. FYI.”
Talking about the work front, Nagarjuna will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji’s much talked about fantasy drama Brahmastra. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in key roles. It is reported that the veteran actor will be seen playing the role of an archaeologist in Brahmastra. Besides, he also said to be in talks for the Telugu remake of Ajay Devgn’s 2018 release Raid. The media reports suggested that Nagarjuna is being considered for the role of an IT officer in the remake. However, an official announcement in this regard is yet to be made.
