Mollywood actress Swetha Vinod in Ranveer Singh's ‘83; Spills beans about her role and working with the actor

Malayalam model and actress Swetha Vinod has bagged a huge role in Hindi film, '83 starring Ranveer Singh in the lead. The film about India’s 1983 World Cup win will see a few South Indian actors in the film and one of them is actress Swetha Vinod. The Malayali beauty will be seen sharing the screen space with Ranveer Singh, South actor Jiiva in the film. She plays a character role and wrapped up the shooting of the film recently in Scotland. In a recent interview to Times of India, Swetha revealed about her role and memorable on-set moments with the star cast. 

The actress revealed how she got an opportunity to be a part of Ranveer Singh's '83. She said, "It all happened really fast. A casting director I know was approached to find someone to play the role of a demure, traditional South Indian in the film. So, he sent me the script and asked me to send an audition video. The production team of ’83 replied within a day to inform me that I was selected. I was disbelief till they started the visa process and confirmed my air tickets to Scotland last month."

Talking about her role with Ranveer Singh, Swetha said, "My scene is with Ranveer, Jiiva and Saqib. It’s a fun scene and my character is shown as someone who has a crush on Srikkanth. Jiiva had no starry airs and was very friendly. It is also his first Bollywood film."

I can die peacefully now! The best BEST moment of my life! Getting to see this man and clicking a photo with him is one thing, but working with him is a whole another feeling I cant even explain! PS: I wanted to take a photo with him the moment I reached for the shoot! But he was always in costume and I was waiting for him to change so that I can click a selfie! We had shoot till 4:45 in the morning the last day! After the director said pack up he left to change the costume and I waited outside his room for him to return! One minute before he stepped out ,the director called me again for one last take! And that moment I thought I missed the chance! I could see him leaving the room! I was so heartbroken! By the time mine was done, everyone was waving and calling me! I ran fast downstairs and he , the superstar RANVEER SINGH was waiting for me because I told him a million times during the shoot that I wanna take a pic! Gosh I was so so happy and thankful at that moment! Being such a superstar and having a whole tiring day of shoot till morning he waited again for me because he cares about his fans! Such an amazing person! Sharing about her most memorable moment from the shoot, the Malayalam beauty said, "I saw Ranveer the day I checked into the hotel in Scotland. But I couldn’t recognise him because he looked that different in Kapil Dev’s get-up. It was only after he changed into his normal costume that I realised that it was Ranveer."
